LIGHT YEARS

Rene Laloux, Gandahar.
English version of Light Year

Light Years is one of favorite animated movies
and I still have the original VHF tape that I bought back in the early 90's.
It was released in the 1980's.
If you never have seen it you can watch most of it on youtube.com

blast from the past

Here's a piece I did back in 1994 when I was attending art school in florida.

New Brush Pen!

I've always inked my art with a Windsor Newton series 7, No. 0 or 1, but I also use pocket brush pens for quick on the go sketches. I've been using the Pentel brush pen, mostly because the ink is a very rich, intense black, but the pen has man-made nylon bristles and I've always wondered or wished that someone would make a natural hair brush pen. Well, I found one!--
KAIMEI LH FOUNTAIN BRUSH PEN
Heres a description:

Convenient for studio or travel these brush pens have a 100% natural weasel (sable) hair brush head and use a dense black sumi ink cartridge for incredible ink work lettering and drawing. The brush head is 3/8 inch long and comes to a traditional one hair point. Natural hair resiliency is like no other brush experience and is more durable than nylon bristle brushes. The barrel of the pen is hard plastic that has been striped to give the look of stained bamboo. From brush tip to pen base the pen measures 7 inches long.

I found mine on amazon, but I came across a few other cool art suppliers that carry it. Here's a link:

The Pentel brush pen is still great for many reasons and it is more affordable, but each pen has a totally different feeling and effect.
